Aqui prepararon la cena para la Celebracion del Dia Del Padre de nuestras Iglesia, la comida estaba calientita, deliciosa, riquisima, el dueno y Los empleados fueron muy atentos y se preocuparon de que toda nuestras ordenes estuvieran listas a la hora que se les pidio, recomiendo este restaurante 100%, les recomiendo el chori pollo y les recomiendo a Ruth la mesera, es incredible. ~ Jessica B

This is an extraordinary Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we entered, we were greated by several people. The lively colors of the tables and artwork is spectacular! The menu is very extensive and the prices are reasonable. As we were sitting down, a young man placed fresh corn chips and two kinds of sauce. The red sauce wash tasty and mild. The white sauce was a surprise. It was mild, slightly sweet, and very delicious. My wife and I shared the pork fajitas. It was colorfully attractive and tasted delicious. On a second platter there was rice, beans, cuacamole, tomatoes, and sour cream. All fresh and delicious too! My wife and I strongly and favorably recommend this restaurant. ~ John R

This is a quality restaurant. I had a loaded chicken burrito, which is all I can speak for on the food, which was delicious. The additional quality of this restaurant comes from the people who work there and this is my experience. I am stopping for the night in Petersburg and after a long day/night of driving, I've checked into a local hotel and walk across the street to El Arriero. As the restaurant is preparing to close for the night, the staff there is so welcoming, but they are ready to leave. We chat a minute or two and the cook happily removes his outer jacket, heads to the kitchen and produces some amazing fresh and authentic food. I took it to go, and even then, they offered to allow me to eat there, ready to prepare a table, although I did not accept that invitation. Great food and an amazing experience, first class all the way. ~ Tony P

WARNING FOR 'ONLINE ORDERS': FAKE WEBSITE!! But DEFINITELY order from here!! Chef Reyes was very kind and gave us his card. Explaining it happens too much but Google wont fix it. He placed our order right away. It was worth the minor inconvenience at NO FAULT to the resturant. I hope this saves someone from making our mistake and ordering through the phony website. Call the number on the card (see pictures), Chef Reyes will take care of you. Food was AMAZING! Portions were generous and as we were eating we were discussing when we will be going back to get more lol it was that good. -Guacamole was really good -Fish tacos on point -Taquitos (chicken and beef) were crispy and had plenty of fixings to go with - Taco salad was delicious - Only tasted the Al Pastor meat in the tacos, we got full but it was fantastic Can't wait to try more of the menu! ~ Ingram S

Friendly Greeting , specialty board visible when you come in , fast seating , booth or table. Art work in the seats and tables , also very clean . Servers fast and friendly , price reasonable for what you get I got Grande Burrito special , it was on board out front as you come in , you had a choice steak or chicken , I had steak , it came with rice and beans . The burrito was large full of steak it was tender , peppers , onions it was delicious. It came to the table in a short time. The main server did very well , My neighbor brought me here today for this outing, I would Recommend this place to everyone who loves Great Food . ~ Ronald H

This was my first time here,. The artwork, arrangements, and seating are spacious and beautiful. The selection of food is amazing, with menus almost like books! I had a steaming skillet of chicken pieces, shrimp, red yellow and green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and pineapple. On the side was rice, refried beans, chopped tomatoes, guacamole, and lettuce with sour cream. The amazing part was the sides filled a large plate and the rest filled a good sized skillet. I've never seen so much food at one time! I took 2 to-go boxes with me! It was a great experience and I look forward to returning. ~ Carol J

Listen y'all, Mr. Mauricio runs a great place here. The food is ALWAYS good, the place is ALWAYS clean, the staff is ALWAYS friendly and go out of their way to make sure every experience is a good one. I've been coming here for the last 7 years and have never had a bad plate of food. The place is beautiful, the music is great, and the food is absolutely delicious. The owners personally go around to ensure everything is good with their customers and always go the extra mile to make sure it's right every time. I can't recommend this place enough. ~ Pogo G

What a wonderful Plato stop just off I-95. Service was absolutely amazing! I stopped to wait with my grands. We had tacos. It's so simple but absolutely delicious! I will definitely stop here again on my I-95 travels. The inside is beautifully decorated. The restroom is clean and sanitized. I especially like a fresh restroom to wash our hands prior to dining. The price of the meal was very reasonable. The taco came with nachos, salsa, and queso. You can not argue with that. This is a hidden gem. Now you know!! Frequent this great establishment, you will not be disappointed! ~ G. R

I’m addicted to Shrimp cocktails and have been without a good one since 2015 when I left Fort Hood and the one they just served me it’s better than expected, not too spicy! Exactly how I like it! Service was very fast, friendly staff, cleanliness is superb and the bar.... I’ll show all the pics so you can see the variety they have! The decoration and music are very good and will definitely come back during the weekend to the bar! The bathroom needs some renovation, I added the pics as well for you to see the condition ~ AnDe C

Best Mexican food around, beats all local competition for 100+ miles easily. I personally always eat the Arroz Con Pollo with the Queso Blanco. The owner Mauricio is god sent and does his best to please everyone. The employees are adapting to the English language so there’s not much bilingual status here, but everyone is doing the utmost best to understand and accommodate to your needs and they honestly mean good. This is a family restaurant that wants to earn your dollar and I eat here almost weekly it seems. Can’t beat it! ~ malevolent

Barely sat down and there were hot chips and delicious salsa in front of us. The servers understood us easily and were very attentive. The food is amazing. Hands down the best Mexican I've ever had. The portions are generous without being too much. My husband had the Texas fajitas and I had the Quesadilla Fajita. Delicious! Can't wait to go back and try their margaritas. VERY reasonable prices, too. Absolute home run. So grateful for Google reviews. ~ Paulette L

Surprisingly good! I ordered soap de pollo cause the picture on the menu looked good and I wasn't very hungry. The actual soup looked as good as the picture. A very generous helping with lots of white meat chicken, carrots, squash, fresh avocado, onion, cilantro etc. Nice broth. Served with rice to add. I added crunched up tortilla chips, too. Ate every bit. My lunch companion had tacos which he said were good. Friendly service, too. Definitely recommend. ~ Lynn C

Excellent menu choices. The service was prompt, waiter was helpful. Delicious salsa and chips with Mexican white sauce. We ordered the Pina Tropicana. This shrimp, scallops, crab meat dish served in a half pineapple was served on a hot fajita iron skillet with flour tortillas. We topped off our meal with a slice of tres Leches cake. It was served warm and had plenty of juice(milks). One of the best we have ever had. Soo delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. ~ Paul W

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life! I typically don't like Mexican restaurants because they are all the same, but I noticed this one looked extra good and had very good reviews. We drank and ate at the bar and the bartender Kay was VERY knowledgeable on everything on the menu & their tequilas (they had only been open for 2 months at this time). The food, service, and tequila was very delicious and wonderful. Highly recommend. ~ Rachel S

Amazing!!! I'm from Texas so Tex-Mex is a must in my life. When I came to VA for training in the Army I was devastated that I couldn't drive down the street and get tacos. My wife came up here to visit for the weekend and we wanted to eat Mexican food, low and behold here we find el arriero. Service was amazing food how I would want it in Texas. Biggest mug of beer ever and my wife's margarita was huge!!!! Would fully recomend ~ Brian M

We stopped by El Arriero on our way south and were very pleasantly surprised. We each ordered quesadillas: the California and the Fajita. The California quesadilla was unusual with scrambled eggs and shrimp, but the combination was excellent. The Fajita (I chose chicken) had just the right amount of melted cheese, chicken, onions & peppers, and was one of the best I've had. We'll be stopping here again when we pass through! ~ F S

My partner and I have been coming here since they were in the tiny building across the street, and we keep coming back because the food is simply spectacular. The owner is so professional, but still makes you feel like family. I always get the burrito texano, and I never leave feeling anything but satisfied. Everything they offer is delicious and fairly priced. 5 stars doesnt do this place justice. ~ spiceygorl

This was the best Mexican restaurant that my wife and I have ever been to. Authentic. Reasonably priced and the seats were incredible. I felt like I was sitting on an artists carved beautiful booth. You gotta see it to believe it! The food was really very good. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised as we got off the highway on the way home of a 10 hour trip. As the only thing that I order is beef fajitas at any Mexican restaurant, my review is going to focus on that. The beef fajitas we're quite good, although they cut the meat a little skinnier than I like. The taste and texture was still outstanding. Flower tortillas were traditional and soft and the refried beans we're also of good quality. My two friends that I were with also enjoyed their meals as well as pictured below. ~ D “

Fantastic! We are on the road, looking for somewhere to stop for lunch. Pulled the Google maps and found this restaurant. They have a 5 star rating for a good reason. I had the enchiladas supreme. Excellent. Portions were large. The salsa has just the right amount of heat. My husband enjoyed the burrito deluxe. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent.Would definitely recommend this restaurant ~ Jane M

First visit review year 2022 Great dinner. Fast service. A clean beautiful restaurant. 2nd visit review year 2024 The restaurant is beautiful and yes still clean! The prices are on the pricey side...for food and drinks but with that being said the service was WONDERFUL. The waitstaff are extremely nice and welcoming. They have plenty of employees who don't mind doing their job. To me all of this is worth the pricier menu options. ~ Michelle H

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. They have best food, margaritas, & service. Everything is always fresh & right on point. All the servers & owner take pride in what they do & are always very friendly & professional. I recommend this place to everyone & refuse to go to any other Mexican restaurant. The flavors in their food are phenomenal. & you can’t beat the prices. You definitely get what you pay for! ~ Haley S
